During world wars troops needed to eat fast, and eat something that gives you energy! that is exactly what chocolate was, easy to eat and healthy to eat! so soldiers had the energy to win wars!

I heard this on Discovery Channel's "How Stuff Works" today. Very informative documentary as a whole. It covered the Quakers' role in chocolate's history, as well as Hershey, PA's role during wars.
